Exquisite late 19th century Victorian Albertina pocket watch chain. Originally worn by women to secure pocket watches or keys, this piece is a wonderful example of late-Victorian utility and romantic aesthetic jewellery.

This chain was manufactured in Birmingham, England, by N. C. Reading & Co (active late 1800s to early 1900s) and features their famous maker’s mark NCR&Co on the swivel dog clip. It is made from their proprietary, highly durable Albo alloy (a high-grade German/nickel silver), celebrated for its bright finish and wonderful tarnish resistance. A highly collectible antique, perfect for wearing as a unique historic bracelet (may need an extender due to short length).
